13 years ago today, Satoshi Nakamoto mined the first Bitcoin block.
It is incredible to think how far Bitcoin has come since Satoshi Nakamoto introduced Bitcoin to the world on this day 13 years ago (read the Bitcoin whitepaper).
That was when the Genesis Block was first mined by Satoshi and the rest, as they say, is history.
Bitcoin has grown from a tiny project being discussed on a mailing list to now being at the center of global finance and politics being discussed in Congress.
It’s days like today where I like to look back and appreciate all of the work that has gone into making Bitcoin what it is today.
There’s no better place to start than looking at the original email thread where Satoshi announced a “new electronic cash system that’s fully peer-to-peer with no trusted third party” (11/01/2008).
Every birthday Bitcoin sees makes it more likely to see the next one, and I can’t wait to see what Bitcoin accomplishes in its teenage years.
Recommended Bitcoin Product: Choice IRA
It's a new year! Time to orange pill the relatives! Now they all have 401ks or IRAs… instead of liquidating those and incurring a big tax bill, they can buy Bitcoin directly with my partner Choice IRA ($50 in free Bitcoin when you sign up)
